About This Special Issue
The design of flight control systems is a critical step in the design of every aerospace vehicle. Advances in computational capabilities, machine learning technologies and data-driven methods are driving researchers to reevaluate the field of control theory and develop new algorithms for flight control system design.
Operational safety of these systems is of great concern in the effort to contribute to the certification of these systems. In the safety scope, the analysis of the pilot-vehicle system is also a critical step in the design process.
I am pleased to announce this special issue and invite manuscripts highlighting advances in the field of flight control design and safety of these systems.

The scope of this special issue will include:

  1. (1)Flight control and navigation
  2. (2)Flight control system design
  3. (3)Pilot-vehicle system modeling and analysis
  4. (4)Adaptive control systems
  5. (5)Safety of non-deterministic control algorithms
  6. (6)Real time monitoring of adaptive control algorithms
  7. (7)Safe autonomous flight control
